My love for photography started at overnight camp when I was asked to assist in the darkroom. As a counselor in training this seemed very cool and exciting. After all I could have been assigned to archery or even worse, dreaded golf!
After a fulfilling career in human services it was time for a change. I decided to follow my passion for photography and launched J. Merel Photography in 2001 and there was no turning back.
